Anahata Yoga Course – Testimony

I find myself on a yoga course run by people I know, who all have credible backgrounds and years of practical experience. The course is an avenue to assist in my development of a more thorough and deeper understanding of my own yoga practice. My needs at all levels are being met with the physical Asanas, the improvement to my mental health through concentration and meditation practice and the associated benefits to my emotional body. Most of all – this course, and its in-depth exploration of yoga and self are a necessary addition to my spiritual life (which can be quite lacking at times – I ain’t no saint!!)

Having been involved for several months now, I can say that the course requirements are more challenging than I first anticipated. Two very full and active days of listening, looking, learning and doing. On top of which I ‘bounce’ out of bed for 5.30am in order to get to Banton on time!! Sharing the experience with likeminded souls is so refreshing. Dedication, motivation and sometimes – just full of nonsense.

The daily practice log has become a good tool. It helps me see what is being practiced and more importantly – what is not!! The course work and material is guiding me into the fascinating depths of yoga, i.e., meditation and pranayama. I am experiencing some benefits to my asthma through the structured control of the breathing exercises. I do love the philosophy – it nurtures my Vijnanamaya Kosha!?!

All of the above contribute constructively to the greater self-awareness (which is a bit of a double edged sword at times). I am now going to have to do something about how I am.

Finally, I can make a sound comment based upon experience, that on any day when I take the time to create the time and space to be still, and attune myself to that ‘Greater Consciousness’, engage in gentle yet dynamic yoga practice – that day has a smoothness to it. I feel more able, my thinking has a greater clarity and precision to it. This does not take place all the time, but I am aware of the difference, whereas, if I do nothing, my body, mind and emotions will remind me – ‘Come on Wullie – Practise’!!!

The well laid out structure of the course gives me goals to focus on and work towards. It stimulates me enough to maintain my momentum and I see my yoga practice as a life long daily experience. I’ve found a precious gem and I look forward to sharing it with others.

Thank you from my Anahata!!! - Wullie Mercer.

Testimonial

I am more than happy to recommend the Anahata School of Yoga Teacher Training Course. As a qualified and experienced trainer myself, I have been really impressed by the excellent standards, pacing and varied methods of the teaching provided. The attention to detail in the planning and implementation of the course has been clear throughout. Trainers are constantly assessing their work, requesting feedback from us, and making any changes they feel are necessary in order to meet our needs. The course materials are well-presented, and easy to follow. Study and yoga practice requirements are made clear, and ways of meeting these are suggested. All four trainers are wonderful examples of how yoga should be taught, and share openly from their own training experiences.

Perhaps most of all, the care and concern from the trainers for the participants, both as individuals and as a group is second to none. Any input we offer to the course is valued, and used positively, and we are encouraged to share any difficulties we may be experiencing or needs we may have.

Finally, the training is really enjoyable with lots of fun and laughter thrown in.

Come and try it! You won't regret it.
